Josie and the Pussycats (2001) - with Edward Miskie

Greetings! In this week's episode we discuss Josie and the Pussycats, the neon-soaked, bubblegum pop comedy that crashed at the box office.
At first glance, Josie and the Pussycats is a teen movie about a girl band hitting it big. But underneath it's an absolutely brilliant, razor-sharp satire about consumer culture, corporate control, and the way music (and identity) gets sold to us.
And walking us through it (between some hilariously astute takes on Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut) is Edward Miskie (writer/producer/sometimes performer).
Edward is also the founder of The Remission Film Festival, which premiers for the first time April 17th, 2026. This festival focuses on creators who shed light on the experience of life before, during, & after cancer.
This is an episode you must hear.
